VALORANT Champions ticket issues prevent fans from attending

We’re swiftly approaching finals season in the esports world and the VALORANT Champions is due to kick off in Seoul, South Korea on August 1st. But fans have been left disappointed as those purchasing tickets for the upper bracket finals and the grand finals have experienced consistent error messages causing them to miss out on seats.

Issues with Interpark

The reason for the error messages isn’t clear and with no word from Riot Games or the ticket operator themselves, it’s uncertain whether the issue will be resolved. Fans on the VALORANT Competitive subreddit have reported issues with seats instantly selling out, glitches when confirming purchases and blocks from their IP addresses.

Tickets for VALORANT Champions are being sold via Interpark, a site based in South Korea that handles a variety of national events from concerts to sports events. It seems that fans using both the Korean version, for those with a Korean phone number and the Global version, for international fans, are facing similar issues.

The problems with ticket purchases appear to have begun during the presale and persisted through to general sale, with those attempting to purchase on both days missing out.

What is VALORANT Champions?

VALORANT Champions is the grand conclusion of the competitive VALORANT season. This is the 3rd S-tier VALORANT tournament to be held on Asian soil and the first in South Korea.

Currently, only four teams have officially qualified: Paper Rex, Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix and EDward Gaming. Only 5 of the 16 teams taking part will qualify through points, the rest will have to fight it out in regional qualifier tournaments to earn their places. After placing in the top two at both VCT Masters Madrid and Shanghai, we’re certainly expecting to see Gen.G Esports join the line up as well.

As the premier event in the VALORANT calendar, we’d certainly hope for an improved fan experience once the event actually begins, especially as the game is conspicuously absent from the Esports World Cup, currently taking placing in Riyadh.
