Riot gifts player extremely rare Riven skin for his achievements

Riot Games has gifted a League of Legends player an extremely rare skin, one that very few players have been able to get over the years, the Worlds 2012 Riven. Now, it’s in the hands of a player who goes by RohanGod_ on socials. Rohan is a known creator who has achieved the max rank in many competitive games, not exclusively in League of Legends.

But now, Rohan is being honored for the achievement he achieved a couple of years ago. In 2023, Rohan achieved the max rank in every Riot Games title, which includes VALORANT, TFT, League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

At the time, Riot did not respond to any of the tweets from the streamer, who clearly would have liked something to commemorate his achievement. When popular streamer Drututt received Silver Kayle, another rare skin, for his six-role challenger grind, Rohan wasn’t going to sit back and not ask Riot for a similar reward. Rohan said via X:

“Hi guys @riotgames
@RiotSupport, I know it’s been like 2 years but if you guys have Drututt Silver Kayle for 6 role Challenger, perhaps you’d be willing to bless Avatar of Riot Games RohanGod up with 2012 Worlds Riven?”

It wasn’t long before Riot added another win to their collection, as within 24 hours, Rohan was in possession of the 2012 Worlds Riven skin.

How rare is Worlds 2012 Riven?

Worlds 2012 Riven is one of the skins that are vaulted in League of Legends. Meaning that no player can purchase this skin from the store, and it cannot be obtained via Hextech Chests. This makes the skin extremely rare, as only a few thousand players will have the skin. The skin was introduced around the time of the 2012 League of Legends World Championship. It was said that players who purchased a ticket for the final would also be rewarded with the skin. The skin was also briefly available in the store in 2012, but not since.

There are two versions of the skin, the 2012 and the 2016 versions. The skin that Riot has gifted Rohan is the 2012 version, a skin that he has stated he has wanted since he was 13 years old. It’s a great gesture from Riot to reward players for their hard work and dedication towards the games they have created.

It does make for an interesting topic if Riot could introduce this full-time? Perhaps for the players who are able to showcase excellence across their games. In the past, challenger players in League of Legends used to receive cool items to celebrate being one of the select few players to reach the highest rank in the game. Probably the most memorable being the iconic bomber jackets that players got for being in challenger.
